We all love to buy and sell

Buying and selling has been going on throughout all of recorded human history. It’s just what we do. However, the way we trade has changed somewhat since the days of our ancestors.

It’s now ‘the norm’ to buy anything other than properties, vehicles or pets online without ever meeting the seller at all.

The adflyer idea

We started off by listening to the people who spend a lot of time trading online. It wasn’t long before we found a lot of dissatisfaction with most all of today’s online marketplaces: “the fees were too high”, “the site was difficult to use”, “my item didn’t sell”. And so on.

We knew we wanted to develop a site which worked really well for both sellers and buyers.

Once we discovered what kind of site they needed and what was missing from their current online experience, we locked ourselves away and spent almost two years building a completely new site which included all those missing features.

We wanted adflyer to be as simple as possible to use and we wanted to build a strong adflyer community where everyone – whether they were a professional seller with a large range of products or someone just selling the occasional item – would feel equally at home.

We wanted it to be a great trading site where you can buy anything you want straight away. We realised that auction style trading was becoming less popular as most people simply don’t have the time to keep checking back on how a sale is progressing.

We wanted to concentrate on selling the best products available so we decided not to offer business opportunities or services.

But above all, we wanted people to feel that when they are on adflyer they are part of a smarter online marketplace:

-    3,000 product categories split down into lots of helpful sub-groups
-    A “compare” feature which allows users to view other current adverts and find bargains easily
-    An intelligent search panel and an easy to navigate format

We think we’ve made adflyer a great place to trade and it looks as if quite a few other people are starting to think that way too….
