Ladies, you don’t have to worry about getting glammed up to the nines and slipping on a pair of crippling heals before you head into town to discover drinks prices have gone up and clubs and bars are dead. There is just as much fun to be had at home away from the tipsy types stumbling into you and treading on your toes. You can avoid the risk of drinks spilt on your fabulous new dress and shoes. You can avoid queueing up for hours outside your favourite haunt only to realise you’ve forgotten your ID and can’t get in anyway!

You’ve all heard of the Staycation; well, that doesn’t just have to apply to holidays! If you want to have a good evening with friends, invite them over instead, crank up the music and get as dressed up as you feel like, even if that means slouching around in a pair of tracksuit bottoms all evening. There is nothing more soothing than comfortable clothes, a smooth glass of sauvignon blanc, not to mention a couple of hours of pampering yourself and your friends! Slap on the face mask, slice up the cucumber and take it easy for a change.

That’s not all you can do, either. If you feel like living in the lap of luxury for a few hours, get your hands on some fabulous new make up to do some old-fashioned, sleepover-style makeovers. Better yet, make your moody teenager’s night and let them have their friends over for a bit of fun with some brand new lipstick, eyeliner and mascara, or even splash out on a gift set or two. They make excellent birthday presents!

Good news for football fanatics: World Cup Fever is finally here! Is your money on England, or do you support one of the other 31 teams participating in World Cup South Africa 2010?

Did you know that the World Cup first began nearly 80 years ago in quaint little Uruguay, but many of the competitors today refused to travel across the blue oceans in order to play. Still, that didn’t prevent the biggest football event the world has ever seen from flourishing. Since 1931, there have been an amazing 19 World Cups, this year’s making it a round 20.

So what can you do to show all of your undying and limitless support for your favoured country? You might be surprised by the ways. As the weather is gloriously warm at the moment, you can pack the kids off outside in the garden to enjoy the sunshine all kitted out in their favourite football strip, with football gloves and footballs included for some added authenticity (someone has to be goalie, afterall!)! That’s not to say you can’t head outside to get involved, too. Playing football provides an excellent way to keep you and your family and friends fit, healthy and active, so there is really no excuse not to get involved.

We know that some of you out there do prefer to watch sports rather than play them however, and there are still plenty of ways for you to show support. You can fly a football flag from your bedroom window, stick it on a pole in the garden or hang it from your car (so long as you don’t end up obstructing your own or another driver’s view, of course!) You might be surprised how many smiles and honked horns you get. There is masses of football memorabilia out there too, from football badges to football flasks (something very handy to take with you to all of those World Cup football games!)

So, there you have it! Make sure you’re properly prepared to celebrate the 2010 World Cup by taking a look at adflyer’s huge range of football collectables! There is so much to choose from and something for everyone!

With the advent of May and glorious sunshine on the horizon, there are a thousand things we know you would rather be doing than sitting indoors. Reading a good book is probably the last thing on your list, but reading doesn’t mean you are resigned to skulking around the house with a glass of wine, ignoring a beautiful day. Pick up that glass of ice cool white wine, get up off your backside, throw open the patio doors and head outside into hot sun and soft wind. All you really need to do is set up a nice sun lounger or deck chair (it can be in the shade if you burn easily!), slip off your sandals, slide on your sunglasses and make yourself comfortable on a favourite cushion.

You might just want to sunbathe, but either way, slap on plenty of sun tan lotion before spending long hours outside. While you’re out there, lounging about doing nothing, you might as well expand your horizons and learn a thing or two at the same time. There are plenty of fiction books to tickle your tastes, not to mention children’s books to keep the kids entertained if they run out of outdoor toys. Comics, magazines and educational books are also on offer at excellent prices, so you needn’t limit yourself to one genre. Now there’s no excuse for sitting inside, is there?
