Summer is the ideal season to shop and with the many bargains on adflyer at the moment, you can’t afford to miss out on an extensive range of gorgeous, unique jewellery to suit absolutely any outfit you can think of! If you’re a little bit stuck for ideas and you need the perfect dangly earrings, gold necklace or charm bracelet for that sunny barbecue coming up at the weekend, you’re in luck! We’re going to tell you all about this season’s jewellery trends so we expect to hear the earrings jangle as you prick back your ears to listen up.

First of all is the chunky necklace! The kinds you see on the catwalk are probably a little too cumbersome for everyday wear, but there are other styles and varieties to choose from that will still achieve a similar look. They’re not ideal items for very, very hot weather, though some chunky beads always look good with a maxi-dress or a cute little sundress! Match this with some chunky bangles in the same colour and you’re away!

Some hoop earrings might carry the spirit of chav, but there are plenty of stylish designs out there that are simply not meant to be WAG chav chic. Avoid the enormous, tacky gold hoops and opt for something a little more elegant. Silver hoops earrings can look perfect with the right outfit, so long as you can’t fit your hand through them!

Try out the bohemian look this summer; bangles and bracelets are a must, accompanied by a bright, vibrant outfit. Earthy coloured bracelets with pretty jewels and sequins make a versatile addition to your jewellery collection. If you’re not fond of the bulkier bracelets or noisy bangles, a pretty tennis bracelet might suit your tastes instead.

Let’s not forget all of the other jewellery you can take a look at, too, anything from diamond rings to stylish hair clips. The world is your oyster!

Of course, no one is suggesting you have to follow the rules when it comes to jewellery. Like all clothes and accessories, it’s all about experimenting and discovering what suits you. Tastes differ from person to person, so try out new styles and ideas and maybe you’ll see it on the catwalk next season!

Having said that, there is no reason why it won’t improve soon and even if every match ends up being a snoozefest, you can still make the best of a bad match with a few additional games, accessories and food and drink. We’re not suggesting you go as far as turfing any of your rooms to make it look like the penalty box like one particular England fan did recently, but you can do one or two things to keep yourselves entertained in ways that aren’t going to upset the parents, girlfriend, boyfriend wife or husband!

Luckily, the World Cup always goes on during the best time of the year – summer! That means barbecues are aplenty, so you have an excuse to eat delicious, meaty burgers, tantalizing sausages and chunky, hot chips. Having the lads over also provides the perfect oppurtunity to have a few matches of your own on your favourite football game or, if you’re getting tired of the football season altogether, there are plenty of other co-operative and team-playing games to choose from.

If the virtual games aren’t your thing, you might like to play a few board games, table games or get outside running around playing your favourite sport – football or other!

Organise a lads night in with a bit of help from adflyer.

The best thing about decorating during the summer months is you can prop open all the doors if you’re intending to splash the walls with vibrancy and colour and let the fresh, warm air stroll in. There couldn’t be a better time to plan and design your brand new living room, bedroom, dining room or bathroom, so if you’re in search of a little bit of inspiration, then look no further!

Bathrooms aren’t to be overloaded. So long as you stick to clean and uncluttered, you can’t go wrong. As with any room you want to redecorate, one of the most successful ways to get started is by deciding on a colour scheme and match your purchases to it. Bathrooms are also one of the easiest rooms to redecorate as most of the furniture is already in place. Think new rugs, shower curtains, toiletry stands, mirrors and one or two little ornaments for wide windowsills and shelves.

Any other room in the house will be following a similar pattern. Decide on a colour scheme or a theme first of all and work from that. For instance, if you wanted a nautical theme for your bedroom, search out some examples of nautical interior design, check out the colours and pick your favourites! If you took blue and white, that gives you your basic colour scheme. All you need to do then is match your table lamps, light fittings, duvets, pillows, cushions or any other furniture accessory or home furniture item to the colours you’ve chosen. You don’t have to find the exact colour; complimentary shades will work just as well.

Redecorating your home is easy when you know where to look, so brighten up your home with a little help from adflyer!

Ladies, you don’t have to worry about getting glammed up to the nines and slipping on a pair of crippling heals before you head into town to discover drinks prices have gone up and clubs and bars are dead. There is just as much fun to be had at home away from the tipsy types stumbling into you and treading on your toes. You can avoid the risk of drinks spilt on your fabulous new dress and shoes. You can avoid queueing up for hours outside your favourite haunt only to realise you’ve forgotten your ID and can’t get in anyway!

You’ve all heard of the Staycation; well, that doesn’t just have to apply to holidays! If you want to have a good evening with friends, invite them over instead, crank up the music and get as dressed up as you feel like, even if that means slouching around in a pair of tracksuit bottoms all evening. There is nothing more soothing than comfortable clothes, a smooth glass of sauvignon blanc, not to mention a couple of hours of pampering yourself and your friends! Slap on the face mask, slice up the cucumber and take it easy for a change.

That’s not all you can do, either. If you feel like living in the lap of luxury for a few hours, get your hands on some fabulous new make up to do some old-fashioned, sleepover-style makeovers. Better yet, make your moody teenager’s night and let them have their friends over for a bit of fun with some brand new lipstick, eyeliner and mascara, or even splash out on a gift set or two. They make excellent birthday presents!

Is your money on England, or do you support one of the other 31 teams participating in World Cup South Africa 2010?

Did you know that the World Cup first began nearly 80 years ago in quaint little Uruguay, but many of the competitors today refused to travel across the blue oceans in order to play. Still, that didn’t prevent the biggest football event the world has ever seen from flourishing. Since 1931, there have been an amazing 19 World Cups, this year’s making it a round 20.

So what can you do to show all of your undying and limitless support for your favoured country? You might be surprised by the ways. As the weather is gloriously warm at the moment, you can pack the kids off outside in the garden to enjoy the sunshine all kitted out in their favourite football strip, with football gloves and footballs included for some added authenticity (someone has to be goalie, afterall!)! That’s not to say you can’t head outside to get involved, too. Playing football provides an excellent way to keep you and your family and friends fit, healthy and active, so there is really no excuse not to get involved.

We know that some of you out there do prefer to watch sports rather than play them however, and there are still plenty of ways for you to show support. You can fly a football flag from your bedroom window, stick it on a pole in the garden or hang it from your car (so long as you don’t end up obstructing your own or another driver’s view, of course!) You might be surprised how many smiles and honked horns you get. There is masses of football memorabilia out there too, from football badges to football flasks (something very handy to take with you to all of those World Cup football games!)

So, there you have it! Make sure you’re properly prepared to celebrate the 2010 World Cup by taking a look at adflyer’s huge range of football collectables! There is so much to choose from and something for everyone!

Of course, we all want to look our very best all year round, but during the summer months especially we suddenly have this undeniable drive and motivation. Dieting, eating healthily and exercising suddenly seem so much easier than they did during the chillier months of the year. So why is that? Studies show that a high percentage of UK dwellers suffer from a condition known as SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder – during the coldest months, usually December, January and February. Theories suggest the amount of sunlight we get affects the number of nerve messages sent from the eyes to parts of the brain, thus affecting the production of certain chemicals such as serotonin and hormones such as melatonin which are used to trigger mood.

Unfortunately, not very much is known about this disorder. On the plus side, a lot of people suggest that keeping fit and eating well can help to boost the serotonin and melatonin levels in the brain, which is why it’s such a good idea to get yourself a piece of exercise equipment to help keep you in shape. If you can manage it, using a peddle bike to get to work is one of the very best ways to stay healthy. It gets you some fresh air, gets your body moving and will help keep your brain active throughout the rest of the day. If, like many of us, the distance is just too great, there are some excellently priced stationary exercise bikes available, not to mention treadmills and crosstrainers. You don’t have to stop there, either. If you really want to build up your muscles or just tone up for the dreaded bathing suit, a multi-gym can provide all of the muscle group workouts you need.

You might not think it when the sweat is dripping off you and your muscles are crying out ‘no more!’, but getting half an hour of exercise once a day can give you a real boost. You will find yourself with much more energy, something that we all need to help get us through the day. You don’t need to buy an expensive gym membership; in the long run, purchasing your own fitness equipment will save pounds not only in your purse, but around your waist, too, so shape up for summer!

Reading a good book is probably the last thing on your list, but reading doesn’t mean you are resigned to skulking around the house with a glass of wine, ignoring a beautiful day. Pick up that glass of ice cool white wine, get up off your backside, throw open the patio doors and head outside into hot sun and soft wind. All you really need to do is set up a nice sun lounger or deck chair (it can be in the shade if you burn easily!), slip off your sandals, slide on your sunglasses and make yourself comfortable on a favourite cushion.

You might just want to sunbathe, but either way, slap on plenty of sun tan lotion before spending long hours outside. While you’re out there, lounging about doing nothing, you might as well expand your horizons and learn a thing or two at the same time. There are plenty of fiction books to tickle your tastes, not to mention children’s books to keep the kids entertained if they run out of outdoor toys. Comics, magazines and educational books are also on offer at excellent prices, so you needn’t limit yourself to one genre. Now there’s no excuse for sitting inside, is there?

Every once in a while, at some point during our lives, we start collecting things. As children, most of us will have collected stickers or trading cards or if you really want to stretch your memory back, things like bottle caps and old-fashioned freebie toys. It’s not such a geeky thing to be a collector, least of all when the price of rare items goes up and up and up over the decades, but there is a bit of a stigma attached to the collectables industry and anyone who holds their hand up to being a collector might get some suspicious glances and derogatory sniggers.

Well, this has to change! It’s the 21st Century afterall and there is nothing wrong with having an avid interest in something, be it collectable WWII memorabilia, collectable ornaments or collectable toys. Amongst some of the most collectable items are comic books. You can probably imagine just how many comics there are out there from the well-known mainstream sort like the Superman, Spiderman and Batman comics to webcomics or independently published comics.

Of course, coins are possibly amongst the most sought-after collectables due to their long and interesting history. There is such a variety of coins to collect that they make every collectors dream – or nightmare. They will no doubt never have a completed coin collection, whatever they might specialise in, but that’s a big part of the fun!

These are but a few things to consider in the collectables universe. Take a look at what adflyer has on offer! Disneyana always proves popular, not to mention science fiction collectables and decorative collectables. So hurry and take a look before someone else snaps up a bargain!

The gaming industry is big business. It seems like a new console makes the adventure to store shelves every few months and new games for the vast variety of systems arrive every week. The end of April saw the release of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Tri on Nintendo Wii, a game originally created for Playstation 3 before Nintendo bought exclusive rights. Though the game has taken a dive in graphics to slice its way onto the world’s most popular games console, the majority of features and functions remain and the core gaming experience is exactly the same. Unfortunately, the esteemed motion sensor wii-mote provides no playability enhancement, compared with games that heavily rely on the capabilities of the wii-mote like Mario Kart, Red Steel and Trauma Centre.

Any gamer will tell you Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are always in competition with one another and unfortunately, they’re not always forthcoming with game sharing. For the time being, anyone desperate to play Monster Hunter Tri will have to invest in a Wii, as it won’t be fighting its way onto any of the other consoles any time soon. Game companies heavily guard their popular franchises. You probably can’t imagine Mario making an appearance on any Playstation console anymore than you can imagine Cloud Strife appearing on any Nintendo console.

These unfortunate facts make being a gamer an expensive lifestyle. Most of us have one, maybe two major consoles at most (though you probably own either a DS/DSi or PSP), making it frustrating when you catch a trailer for a new game that positively makes you salivate. Foaming at the mouth or not however, paying the bills comes before indulging, which is why shopping online for competitive prices on games, consoles and accessories is an idea of only the wisest! Not only can you usually find something cheaper than you would in most high street stores, but you can compare the list of prices online or you could even search for something second hand with online marketplaces just like this one!

It seems we’re in an age where, to get by in life, you have to have an extensive knowledge and understanding of the latest electronics and gadgets. Plenty of us are starting to feel left behind, drowning in an electrified sea of ipads, smart phones and macbooks, not to mention the cyber sea of Twittering, Facebooking and Googlewaving. Believe us when we tell you, if you’re wondering if you really need any of these things, it’s not your age talking. It seems almost expected of us to want, to need, these things in our lives. The powers that be have a nasty habit of making us feel like our lives will be complete with the next handy gadget that probably does everything the one you’ve got now does, just a little bit faster and with a little more flare.

The trouble is, if society deems it so, then we normally have little option but to stagger along behind it trying to catch up. Well, that’s where we come in. Over the next few weeks we’re going to look at some of the most recent electronic gadgets on the market and we’re going to give them a set of ratings to help you get to grips with it all and decide whether you really need them in your lives at all.

1. The Blackberry Curve
Everyone is intimidated by the smart phone at first, but the Blackberry is actually surprisingly easy to get used to. It’s not the most attractive phone on the market, but it does come with a handy little keypad that is just like the QWERTY keyboard. It takes a bit of getting used to, yes, and if you have particularly large fingers you will probably want to turn elsewhere for your mobile needs, but it’s much faster and easier to use than predictive text. Unfortunately, you have no excuse for your bad spelling.

The Blackberry Curve also has the option for permanent internet connection, making it ideal for business types – or teenagers – that need to be in constant contact with the rest of the world (or Facebook). It does make for a very handy feature when you’re out and about and want to find something like a restaurant, a petrol station or even a supermarket. With an unlimited list of downloadable applications, the Blackberry Smartphone can pretty much offer you everything you could possibly need, including its very own messenger and a variety of social networking site applications specifically tailored to the Blackberry. It also has an extensive list of downloadable games, themes and efficiency applications that really do make using your Blackberry even easier.

The only let down is the camera. It’s fine if you want to take photos in the daytime, but as soon as the lights are low, there is absolutely no point in trying. Unfortunately, the creators forgot to include a flash. This shouldn’t be too much of a problem for most of you though, as we’re certain many now own a digital camera.

Our conclusion? You don’t realise how much you wanted it until you have it in your hands.

Appearance – 3/5
Ease of use – 4/5
Capabilities – 5/5
