With the World Cup now well under way, you lads are probably enjoying some evenings spent drinking a few cold beers and…falling asleep, because every match so far has been mind-numbingly boring. Having said that, there is no reason why it won’t improve soon and even if every match ends up being a snoozefest, you can still make the best of a bad match with a few additional games, accessories and food and drink. We’re not suggesting you go as far as turfing any of your rooms to make it look like the penalty box like one particular England fan did recently, but you can do one or two things to keep yourselves entertained in ways that aren’t going to upset the parents, girlfriend, boyfriend wife or husband!

Luckily, the World Cup always goes on during the best time of the year – summer! That means barbecues are aplenty, so you have an excuse to eat delicious, meaty burgers, tantalizing sausages and chunky, hot chips. Having the lads over also provides the perfect oppurtunity to have a few matches of your own on your favourite football game or, if you’re getting tired of the football season altogether, there are plenty of other co-operative and team-playing games to choose from.

If the virtual games aren’t your thing, you might like to play a few board games, table games or get outside running around playing your favourite sport – football or other!

Good news for football fanatics: World Cup Fever is finally here! Is your money on England, or do you support one of the other 31 teams participating in World Cup South Africa 2010?

Did you know that the World Cup first began nearly 80 years ago in quaint little Uruguay, but many of the competitors today refused to travel across the blue oceans in order to play. Still, that didn’t prevent the biggest football event the world has ever seen from flourishing. Since 1931, there have been an amazing 19 World Cups, this year’s making it a round 20.

So what can you do to show all of your undying and limitless support for your favoured country? You might be surprised by the ways. As the weather is gloriously warm at the moment, you can pack the kids off outside in the garden to enjoy the sunshine all kitted out in their favourite football strip, with football gloves and footballs included for some added authenticity (someone has to be goalie, afterall!)! That’s not to say you can’t head outside to get involved, too. Playing football provides an excellent way to keep you and your family and friends fit, healthy and active, so there is really no excuse not to get involved.

We know that some of you out there do prefer to watch sports rather than play them however, and there are still plenty of ways for you to show support. You can fly a football flag from your bedroom window, stick it on a pole in the garden or hang it from your car (so long as you don’t end up obstructing your own or another driver’s view, of course!) You might be surprised how many smiles and honked horns you get. There is masses of football memorabilia out there too, from football badges to football flasks (something very handy to take with you to all of those World Cup football games!)

So, there you have it! Make sure you’re properly prepared to celebrate the 2010 World Cup by taking a look at adflyer’s huge range of football collectables! There is so much to choose from and something for everyone!
